Jobseeker Support

Jobseeker Support is a weekly payment that helps people until they find work.

  • We need more information because:

    • We don't know if you work less than 30 hours per week

    • We don't know if your income is below the cutoff point

    • We don't know if you are not currently receiving a student allowance or loan

    • We don't know if you are not studying

    • We don't know if you have lived continuously in New Zealand for at least 2 years since becoming a NZ citizen or permanent resident

    • We don't know if either:

      • You are 18 or over and don't have dependent children

      • You are 20 or over and have dependent children

  • However you do meet these requirements:

    • You are a New Zealand Citizen or Resident

    You can complete and submit your application form online. We'll also check to see if you can get any other help from us, based on the answers you give in your application form.

    If you can apply online for more than one service, you only need to fill out the form once.
