Sole Parent Support

Sole Parent Support is a weekly payment that helps single parents find part-time work or get ready for future work.

  • We need more information because:

    • We don't know if you are 20 or older

    • We don't know if you have a natural or adoptive, dependent child under 14 years of age

    • We don't know if you are a sole parent

    • We don't know if your income is below the cutoff

    • We don't know if you have lived continuously in New Zealand for at least 2 years since becoming a NZ citizen or permanent resident

    • We don't know if you are not studying

  • However you do meet these requirements:

    • You are a New Zealand Citizen or Resident

    • How to apply for Sole Parent Support

    You can complete and submit your application form online. We'll also check to see if you can get any other help from us, based on the answers you give in your form.
