Veteran’s Pension

Veteran’s Pension is a fortnightly payment for veterans who have qualifying operational service in the New Zealand Armed Forces.

You can apply for this service as early as 12 weeks before you turn 65 to avoid missing out on any payments.

You may be able to meet these criteria by using time spent living in another country or contributing to another country's pension scheme. Please visit our website for more information.

  • We need more information because:

    • We don't know if you are 65 or over

    • We don't know if you have lived in New Zealand for the required number of years since the age of 20

    • We don't know if you have lived in New Zealand for at least 5 years since the age of 50

    • We don't know if you have served with the New Zealand Armed Forces

  • However you do meet these requirements:

    • You are a Citizen or Resident of New Zealand
